Remington Rifle Team Has Good Showing at National Championships

During the mid range phase the team posted a Silver medal score of 2356-106x.  Firing team members included Bill Bowers, Allen Castle, Tom Ferraro, & Bill Gelet.  Dave Shellhammer coached all 4 shooters and Fritz Hempelman was team Captain.

Bill Gelet Posted scores high enough to win second overall with 2392-125x in the any rifle class, using his palma gun disguised with a scope. 

He also finished second in match 809 with a 200-17x, and third in match 811 with a 200-12x. 

Tom Ferraro shot palma throughout the mid range phase. In match 806 he was the high palma shooter and third overall with a score of 200-10x

He also managed second palma in match 814 with a 200-12x 

Moving into the Long Range Championship didn't hinder the team at all.

The team was third overall in the Herrick match with a score of 789-37x. 

Firing members were Dave Shellhammer, Bill Bowers, Tom Ferraro, & Bill Gelet.  Bill Gelet coaching and Tom Ferraro Team Captain.

Bill Gelet kept up the pace placing third overall to win the Bronze with a 1238-57x score. Bill was also the first high master  in the Leech cup with a 199-11x.

In the Wimbeldon Cup Dave Shellhammer was second high master with an 199-9x

Bill Bowers made the team especially proud by winning the Remington Band of Brothers match. Making the shoot off with a 200-11x and then a crushing score of 100-8x to take the trophy.

Moving on to the Palma Matches the team of Bowers, Castle, Ferraro, & Gelet placed second,  1787-98x only 3 points behind the AMU. Dave Shellhammer once again did all the coaching with Frirz Hempelman the team Captain. 

Bill Gelet finished the Palma individual second overall with a 447-20x 

Team members Bill Gelet, Bill Bowers, & Allen Castle made the Palma 20. 

The Team would like to especially thank Team Captain Ken Roxburgh for making travel and training available to us throughout the year.

Three is the key.

And Team member Ken Livingood for his last minute smith work and target service during the Championship.
